Thales IDBridge CT710 is a professional smart card reader combining solid security and user-friendliness. Due to the integrated numeric keypad (PIN pad) and large LCD display (2x17 characters), it allows secure entry of PIN codes directly into the smart card, thus minimizing the risk of data capture by malware or keyloggers. This model is ideal for applications where very high access security is required, for example in banking, public administration, healthcare or other regulated sectors.
The reader meets certifications and standards including EAL3+ (with protection profile V1.3), ISO 7816 and EMV Level 1. It supports all types of ISO 7816 cards with voltages of 1.8V, 3V and 5V, including embossed cards. The USB interface is fully compliant with CCID (Class 1.1), which ensures simple Plug & Play connection across Windows (including older versions), macOS and Linux without the need to install special drivers.
The reader is compact in design, measuring 98 × 66 × 15 mm and weighing 64 g, which allows for convenient handling even in branches or in the office. It is designed for more than 100,000 card insertion and ejection cycles and includes short-circuit detection and a tamper-evident casing that increases the device's security against unauthorized intervention.
Advanced security features include a firewall mechanism that protects the card, keyboard and display against unauthorized access. It also includes extended APDU commands to increase functionality and support new applications. The device also automatically enters power saving mode and can be set to automatically shut down after a preset period of inactivity.
IDBridge CT710 supports localization of the user interface into several languages and can be visually customized according to customer needs, which is especially beneficial for large enterprise deployments. Due to its high security and the possibility of direct PIN entry, the CT710 is among the most suitable readers for sensitive applications requiring strong authentication, where customer trust and increased data protection are needed.
